Konami will release Maze of Machines, a 153-card Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG booster set built around a new DARK Machines theme, on March 19, 2027, according to its official product page. ICv2 reported the set on October 29. Official Tournament Stores get it two days early, on March 17.

What's in Maze of Machines
The new DARK Machines theme comes with "Heavy Metal" Spells and Traps. Konami's page names Rampant Barrel Dragon, Pendulum Machine of Misery, Slot Machine 777, Heavy Metal Revenge, Ticking Blast Sphere and Heavy Metal Bandit among its cards.
Around it, the set adds:
- Cubic cards marking the 10th anniversary of the Yu-Gi-Oh! The Dark Side of Dimensions movie
- Marincess and Ghostrick cards, the first new support for either theme in four years
- 10 new cards from *Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, tied to the *Yu-Gi-Oh! TAG FORCE GX video game, including Elemental HERO Clay Guardsman
Konami also lists Dominus Spark, Fydraulis Harmonia and Fallen of the White Dragon among the hard-to-get cards in the set.
What collectors will chase
Three things stand out for collectors on Konami's list:
- A Starlight Rare-only card. A new variant art of Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder appears only as a Starlight Rare, so there's no cheaper version of that art to settle for.
- Chibi Secret Rares. 10 monsters, including Contrast HERO Chaos, Mecha Phantom Beast Dracossack, Fire King High Avatar Garunix and Bujintei Susanowo, get chibi-style variant art. These take the place of a Super Rare in a pack and come on top of the 6 regular Secret Rares.
- New extended art. Summoned Skull is one of the 7 extended-art cards, with brand-new artwork.
One detail doesn't add up yet: the rarity counts Konami lists come to 152, one short of the 153 cards it gives for the set. Konami's page also notes that contents can change before release.
What it means for collectors
ICv2's $107.76 box price works out to 24 packs at the $4.49 MSRP, though Konami's page doesn't state packs per box. With chibi variants, Collector's Rares, extended art and a Starlight-only Hamon, Maze of Machines has more alternate versions than a usual core set, which makes a full master set a bigger project. Konami hasn't published pull rates for any of them.
