TCGplayer will let sellers add free USPS tracking to small card orders shipped in a single-window envelope, starting November 2, 2026, the marketplace announced on October 27. It covers orders of $49.99 and below going to verified U.S. addresses, and gives sellers extra protection when USPS scans the envelope.

TCGplayer tracked envelopes: key facts

  • Rollout: starts November 2, 2026; every seller should have it by November 6
  • Eligible orders: $49.99 and below, shipped in a single-window envelope to a verified domestic U.S. address
  • Cost to sellers: no fee for the tracking barcode; sellers still pay their own postage
  • How it works: the packing slip prints with a USPS Intelligent Mail barcode that shows through the envelope window
  • Seller protection: if USPS records at least one scan at a postal facility, the order can be covered against "not delivered" claims
  • Buyer view: tracking shows in the order confirmation email and order history, not at checkout
  • Not included: delivery confirmation, since letter mail gets no doorstep scan

How tracked envelopes work

Sellers choose the tracked packing slip for an eligible order in TCGplayer's new Orders page, print it singly or in bulk, and fold it into a single-window envelope so the barcode is visible. Postage goes on as usual. When USPS scans the barcode at a postal facility, that scan shows up as tracking for the order.

TCGplayer is clear about the limits. Scans aren't promised, and some envelopes may not get any. Because letter mail never gets a final delivery scan, the barcode can show an envelope moving through the postal system but not that it reached your mailbox. Orders that need full tracking or delivery confirmation still have to ship with a tracked service under the TCGplayer Safeguard rules.

Why sellers get more protection

Until now, TCGplayer's extra protection against non-delivery claims was tied to a seller reaching 1,000 orders, under its Safeguard program. With a tracked envelope, an eligible order can get that protection once USPS logs at least one facility scan, even if the seller hasn't reached the 1,000-order mark. The existing Safeguard protections don't change.

What it means for collectors

Many singles orders are small enough to ship in an envelope. If your order is $49.99 or less and the seller uses the new slip, you'll see tracking in your confirmation email or order history. Expect it to show that the envelope entered the mail stream, not a delivery scan at your door.

For newer sellers, it means a missing envelope is less likely to come out of their pocket. Whichever way you ship or receive, a penny sleeve inside a toploader is still the safe minimum for a card in the mail; our guide to binders, toploaders and slabs explains the options.

What's next

  • November 2–6: tracked envelope slips roll out to sellers in stages.
  • November 18 and 19: TCGplayer is holding "Cyber Weekend Power Sessions" webinars for sellers that cover the feature.
